Becoming vegetarian or vegan has become a health conscious or animal loving decision for many. A wedding should be a reflection of each couple. Their values and health lifestyles should be portrayed in each detail. In the wedding industry, especially in the Midwest, it is easy finding vendors who can support a couples health and values within the biggest day of their lives.
The inspiration of vegan and cruelty free shoot hit us close to home. Many of our vendors are vegan including the sous chef at The Eden. When handing this request to a team of very passionate animal loving collaborators we were able to dive deep into making each item fit into not just the theme but into our daily life styles. It was a joy to create a bright color palate with a vintage bohemian flair that featured all vegan products and services. The Eden created and designed the shoot with the help of many wonderful vendors. Each product, service, and design was thought out to ensure the theme was intact during the entire process.
The Eden was the perfect place to host the styled shoot. With the organic property of 26 acres and the many natural elements, there were limitless spaces for beautiful photography shots. The inside Ballroom gave a beautiful elegance while adding in the much-needed natural lighting. Not only was The Eden’s property used but also the vegan entrees, raspberry cheesecake, and the beautiful floral arrangements were created by The Eden’s creative team.
You can’t have a vegan wedding without vegan dinner and desserts. The Eden’s talented and also vegan sous chef created two entrees featuring amazing and eye-catching color and taste. The seared oyster mushrooms, from the local Windrose farms, in a pea and vegan parmesan puree with crispy bacon bits gave a hint of teriyaki jazz. The house made almond cashew ricotta stuffed shells were the perfect addition for the carb lover. Don’t forget about the delicious cheese cake that catches your eye with drizzles of raspberry glaze, crispy crust, and creamy vegan cheesecake filling. Of course, we also had all this for dinner following the shoot. Yay for left overs!
The Edens floral designs were nothing short of the theme. Showcasing moody reds and blacks, with accents of orange and yellow to bring life and color to the arrangements. An abundance of greenery filled each arrangement and gave the wild, earthy, yet elegant foliage just the right amount of bohemian touch.
Kayla E Photography captured all the inspirations and talent of the local wedding collaborators. Kayla creates photography art that couples would want to hang on their wall for a life time. Kayla is no stranger to The Eden. She can direct anyone into a beautiful shot. The meeting before the shoot was so seamless as she organized the timeline for the day, what photos she was going to catch, and what we wanted each shot to include. With her ability to see the beauty in natural and organic elegance made her the perfect photographer. She saw the wildly grown patch of property as organic beauty and caught the natural elegance of each styled location. Kayla not only brings the beauty to each shot but also the professionalism and service so many couples need for their wedding.
Mutton's Party and Tent Rentals provided all the linens and decoration items. Working with Mutton's Party and Tent Rental is not a challenge. I came to them with my idea and Alishya was able to point me in the right direction of what would look best with the floral designs and the color palate. From the large metallic jug on the guest table, the cast iron candle sticks and moss balls, to the floor length linens these foundations gave way to natural beauty of each item.
The Red Stiletto provided all hair and makeup. They worked with us to develop the best hair and makeup combo that complimented the style of the shoot. All their hair and makeup products are cruelty free. There was no shortage of beauty. A bold lip and smoky eye paired well with the dutch side braids. Trend Alert! They topped off the look with a beautiful head piece set in bohemian fashion, across the forehead. Our model is also decked out with beautiful jewelry that added a touch of glamour to the earthy vibe. Not only do they have jewelry but they also provided the cathedral veil that included delicate lace appliques that paired perfectly with the bridal gown.
The dress, Oh the dress. Is bohemian chic the best way to put it? This dress provided by Wendy’s Bridal in Fort Wayne Indiana, is a beauty from the Allure Wilderly line. The lace detailing on the train had us in awe. The low back and thin straps showed off our model’s shoulder tattoos perfectly. Of course, you can’t go wrong with a fully lace dress. We were stunned by this beautiful gown.
The 1973 Mustang Mach 1 was a last-minute addition from The Eden’s owner. What really made this impactful was the color? The crisp orange was the perfect color palate to bring to the shoot. This orange color pops up in the most unexpected places. The Mustang brings a vintage vibe that is also showcased by the sweetheart peacock chairs and accents of orange roses in the floral displays.
This was all showcased by our model Kelsey. Kelsey is an employee of The Eden but also was the perfect representation for our shoot. She embraces her tattoos and her own style. Not only are the shots beautiful but she was able to bring elegance to each shot while withholding her quirky edginess.
This shoot was a BLAST! They should all be this much fun. We love to provide inspirations to couples as well as showcase the local wedding industry talent, while sticking true to our theme of cruelty free products and services.
Until next time…There will most definitely be a next time.
